There was a about a 40 min break till the second T20 and with everyone resting up it was time to take to the Optimists. Nugget started the ball rolling with his fantastic coin toss and after making it 3 wins from 3 attempts we decided to have another bat.
After some changes to the team for the second game we set about making up for our early effort. The Optimists opened their attack with a young off spinner and off his first rock of the game Woody skied a chance to mid wicket who decided to grass a very easy chance. This was going to prove slightly costly for the HKCC and Woody went about taking them to the cleaners. Shan another new addition to the mighty Dels showed us he will be making plenty of runs for us this season and went about building a very effective partnership with Woody by turning the strike over to let Woody tee off which put us in a fantastic position to push home for a huge total which we did! Woody continued his liking for the HKCC bowling and soon brought up his second century for the club in 2 weeks. Unfortunately the pain did not stop here for the HKCC and the Goose was called for, with the crowds flooding into the KCC to see some serious bombing, Woody and Usman put on a 50 run partnership to end off the innings with Woody ending the innings on 150 and the Dels setting a huge total of 204.
The HKCC started off at a rate of knots however they were going to struggle to maintain this. Jammy was brought on from the short end and had an immediate impact snaring 3 wickets and putting the HKCC on the back foot. With the crowd consisting of Macnulty and K Dawg roaring form the top of the pool pavilion (you shouldn't drink in the sun boys) the Infidels proceeded to take wickets at regular intervals it was left to Waq Attack to clean up the tail who ended with figures of 3 for 7. Even though it was very hot and it was also our second game of the day the fielders and bowlers all chipped in, with special mention going to Usman who kept well throughout the whole day and kept his chirp up and kept the boys keen!
We have got our first win under our belt with many more to come!
Go the Dels!
