It was more silverware for KCC on Sunday as the Templars produced one of their best performances of the year to brush aside the Pakistan Association.
Skipper Roy Lamsam won the toss and had no hesitation in batting first. Captain of Cricket Matt Collins continued his sparkling Sunday Cup form with a quick fire 27 to the tone for the batting. Kinchit Shah was the star with the bat for KCC, sent in up the order at number 5, he compiled a brilliant 80 including 3 sixes in a row towards the end of the innings. He was helped out by coach Ryan Campbell who chipped in with 95 in a total of 261.
Pakistan were soon in early trouble thanks to some fiery bowling from Imran Arif. He took the first 5 wickets and Pakistan struggled to fight back after that. Some good bowling from Waqar Darwood and Kinchit sealed the deal as they were bundled out for just 174. This completed a very good season for the Templars, who only lost the one match all year.
In the Saturday Cup final the Tartars played Little Sai Wan up at HKCC. The Tartars bowled first in drizzly conditions and bowled well, restricting LSW to 161 from 29 overs. This target was always going to be a tough chase but an opening partnership of 50 between Ravi Lulla and Hersh Khatri set a great foundation. Unfortunately wickets started to tumble and the tartars were unable to stop the slide falling 20 runs short.
Congratulations to skipper Afzaal Haider and his men for having a fine season and there is still pleanty of improvement that will come from the Tartars next season.
The final match of the year will be a 2 day Premier League match at KCC against LSW, a good performance there will earn KCC the 2 day Premier League title to put with the One day Premier League title we have already won.
