KCC welcomed back Mark Eames for this game and also welcomed Allyson Ko.
KCC lost the toss and CCC did not play to the script of inserting KCC, but decided to bat first.
CCC opened the batting with Sam O'Maley and Rodney Miles. Sam made a brisk 57 not out even though he was dropped twice and the CCC captain Jonathan Brunello made a good 30 not out while Dinesh Tandon chipped in with 24 right at the end. KCC’s bowling attack shared the wickets, with Ravi Sujanani and Steven Pratt picking up a brace each. The highlight of KCC's fielding was Nick Brennan's catch at Square Leg and Jon Mckinley's catch at Mid-On. CCC eventually scored a daunting total of 193 in 35 overs.
KCC went into bat, and we opened with Ravi Sujanani and Nick Brennan, and they got KCC off to a flyer, scoring at 10 an over. Ravi then retired and in came Mark Eames who also scored 30 and retired. Nick Brennan scored 24 and retired and in the end Connor McLeod scored 31 not out while Steven Pratt was 24 not out. KCC chased down the runs in 28 overs.
Man of the Match for CCC was Sam O'Maley and the KCC Men of the Match were Ravi Sujanani and Steven Pratt.
KCC was the first team in the Robbie Lee Shield to field a local female player in Allyson Ko; she fielded and bowled very well.
The Shield now rests in our cabinets for another year. We will defend the Shield again next year on 1st October.
