Atkinson has hit scores of 56, 101* and 90* in a stunning display of batsmanship by the young Hong Kong and KCC Premier League captain.
His first score was the best for Hong Kong on the artificial wicket at Mission Road on Sunday, 23rd September, in which Hong Kong set a total of 241 in 50 overs and then clung on to win by 26 runs despite a valiant 85 from FECC skipper Ben Green.
In the second match, played at KCC on Tuesday, Atkinson entered the fray with Hong Kong in a spot of bother at 31-2 with the new-ball bowlers still getting plenty of purchase from the track. He stroked a brilliant 101* off just 78 balls to take Hong Kong past their victory target of 187 in just 28 overs, bringing up the winning runs and his hundred with a massive six into the KBGC grounds.
If that wasn't special enough, Atkinson's third innings of the series saw him smote an unbeaten 90 for KCC in a T20 match played in the afternoon on Wednesday, 26th September. FECC looked set to put on a big score but faltered mid-innnings and could only muster 147 when 180+ looked likely earlier on. Ryan Campbell hit three sixes in a brief cameo but Atkinson was once again the star of the show as KCC blazed to victory in the 17th over.
Jamie will lead Hong Kong on their ACC Trophy Elite 2012 campaign being played in the UAE. He departs for Dubai with the rest of the Hong Kong squad on the evening of 30th September 2012. We hope his rich vein of form continues in Dubai, where conditions are expected to be extremely hot. We wish Jamie and the rest of the Hong Kong boys all the best for their tour.
