The HKCA has received a huge boost in funding for the Hong Kong Cricket Sixes 2011 tournament. The HKSAR Government's Mega Events Fund has granted the HKCA HK$3.5 million to expand the event to a 12-team competition to be played over three days. Three of the new teams will be national teams such as Bangladesh while the fourth team will be an All-Stars team featuring a number of star cricketers.
