Skipper Jamie Atkinson won the toss and had no hesitation in electing to bat first. Through some good bowling from Pakistan skipper Tanwir KCC were in early trouble until Kinchit Shah joined Ryan Campbell. The pair added over a hundred for the 5th wicket and steered KCC towards a solid 1st Innings. This total was added by some good lower order batting from the tail, KCC finally scoring 308 with Campbell 168 & K Shah 46.
Pakistan's innings started poorly with Imran Arif taking 2 wickets including the prized wicket of H Butt caught in the slips. Runs continued to come from Pakistan in a typically aggressive counter attack and they appeared to be going to stumps in a solid position until part time spinner Campbell snared 2 wickets in as many balls in the final over of the day leaving Pakistan 4/100 at stumps.
Day 2 started well for KCC with Arif dismissing Babar for 9 and then Najeeb. Except for some hard hitting from Tanwir KCC continued to take wickets and when Ashley Caddy took the final wicket KCC had taken first innings points and help a 90 run lead.
The rest of the match turned into valuable batting practise and extra points. Hersh Katri showed his potential with a solid 77 and Dylan Deering was all class with a not out century.
This victory sets KCC up to win the 2 day competition with just one match remaining.
