Crusaders - the new beginning. This is where years of potential turned into Trophies. Crusaders have always been the front runners when it comes to off field antics and drinking, but when it came to league success on the field we always fell short. With the injection ofyouth (Sonny) and astute recruiting from the cricket section we were able to introduce some gun players (Peter Wooden, Bill Garnett) who helped find the balance and consistency, whilst still maintain the social antics that Crusaders are famous for.

The turning point in the season came when Crusaders were in a precarious position of not making the finals. The brilliant cricketing mind of Todd (HKCA Saturday League Captain of the Year) decided that Peter, an A grade player from Sydney, was being wasted by not having the input the team so desperately needed. So Peter became on field captain and the rest is history. League champions, social champions and Crusaders team picture in the bar.

As captain i have decided not to put down individual stats as the Crusaders played as a team and every player who walked onto the field played with the kind of spirit tenacity and mate ship any ANZAC would be proud off.

A special thanks must go out to Peter and Sean whose guidance throughout the year contributed to the success of the Crusaders. I have enjoyed captaining the Crusaders through out the year and wish the team every success in the coming season.
